Suggestions[edit]

I feel that this article could be improved by addressing the following:

  • discussing the history of the Pakistani honours system — when was it instituted (1956, I believe, back dated to 1947, but I'm not sure about this), what existed before then (Commonwealth honours system);
  • add some images;
  • add more citations;
  • expand text to give a brief description of each award and what it is for (distinguished service, valour, gallantry, etc.), if possible the amount of times they have been awarded, etc.

Just a few ideas. Hope this helps. — AustralianRupert (talk) 02:58, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Should the award names be listed in English on the English Wikipedia?[edit]

In my editing around Wikipedia this has come up many times before. As a member of WP:ODM we have a policy that give guidance on this matter WP:ODM#Non-English language awards. Based on that guidance, in my mind Nishan-i-Haider should not be translated. Most country's highest awards are most recognized in their native language. However the many other decorations listed on this page would seem to be good candidates to be named in English on the English Wikipedia. We are told to be bold, but I would like to seek consensus on this before charging forward and possibly being accused of being ethnocentric. EricSerge (talk) 03:48, 14 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Parentheses and italics[edit]

I think "(''Order of Excellence'')" looks better, but "''(Order of Excellence)''" works too. However mixed use, "(''Order of Excellence)''", looks terrible. Is there a reason for that that I'm missing? SchreiberBike | ⌨  21:56, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
