Allison Ferns - delete?[edit]

Some has created an article on Allison Ferns, and I have nominated it for deletion. In case anyone else wants to contribute, the debate is at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Allison Ferns.--A bit iffy 08:03, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've just seen it's now been deleted.--A bit iffy 01:20, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, those who can't create, delete. I'm beginning to understand wikipedia now.--Fred FuManchu 07:51, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps Nathan James can be added to the travel readers page as a Surrey & Sussex travel reader as he's on nearly every morning and evening at the moment. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.67.147.36 (talk) 18:19, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unprotect[edit]

Please unprotect, as warring parties Plantbirdlady (talk · contribs) and Igosaur (talk · contribs) are not around.

Thanks. CM (talk) 21:41, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

 Done. TalkIslander 22:53, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Protection Required[edit]

Please protect this page again with presenters and on-air staff included in the Wiki article for BBC Southern Counties Radio. On-air staff deserve to be credited. It is only if the "non-notable" person has a Wiki page linked to them when the page needs to be removed. 86.151.115.174 (talk) 20:53, 24 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No protection required. The IP is edit warring and may soon be blocked if they persist.Charles (talk) 21:06, 24 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Let's get another admin involved this as you seem to be doing this from your own opinion. On-air staff deserve to be included in the articles. Look at BBC London 94.9 for example. It's only fair you involve and discuss this with another admin. Many other articles include name lists. If you look at the notable rules, it will state that names lists are fine, but wiki pages for non-notable pages aren't. I suggest you get your facts straight and involve other admins before you upset more people. 86.151.115.174 (talk) 21:11, 24 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Please read the following that was said by another user who has been here way longer than you, 86.
In other wards, do NOT add non-notable people. Please stop adding these names until an article is created to establish their notability. Thanks. Corkythehornetfan 21:20, 24 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
NO, there are people all over Wiki who have mentions in articles. This I am asking other admins to become involved with this battle as you seem to think you own Wikipedia when you DON'T. I have also reported you. 86.151.115.174 (talk) 21:23, 24 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You need to Drop The Stick right now. Reporting people is only going to draw attention to your own behaviour. The key point here is that Wikipedia is not the Radio Times. We are not here to list all presenters or when they are on air. Misunderstandings like this this are fairly normal for a new editor and that is fair enough. We don't want to crucify a new editor for making a mistake. New editors often make some mistakes (as indeed do we all) and we expect that but continuing to insist on your position and attacking other people for correctly pointing out that this is not the way we do things on Wikipedia is not normal. It is disruptive. You need to calm down and back off. Maybe find something else constructive you can do here instead? --DanielRigal (talk) 21:50, 24 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've protected the page for a week for disruptive editing that is in clear violation of WP:LISTPEOPLE. It's not my goal to alienate new contributors, but when a dispute like this has a clear-cut answer. There is no argument when the other article cited also had the non-"notable" people added by the same person. Airplaneman 09:44, 25 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Notable On-Air People[edit]

There are many notable people that should be included in this Wiki article. The likes of Adrian Love, Bill Buckley, John Radford, Nathan James, Nic Ayling, Stephen Grant, Allison Ferns, Tommy Boyd, Joanne Good and Roger Day should all be included. RadioAnorakUK (talk) 09:59, 27 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

An interesting point of view, but one that has not been followed by the editors which have created the featured article WINC (AM). Listing presenters or other employees does not seem the way to go. The Winch (AM) article could be a useful model for us, the editors, to help improve this one. SovalValtos (talk) 11:12, 27 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
If they have articles that mention them as being presenters on SCR then they certainly can be included here, provided it is done in a appropriate and proportional way. --DanielRigal (talk) 11:28, 27 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Notable presenters to be added[edit]

I will continue to create Wiki pages and add sources for notable presenters who are not currently on the page. I am unable to add anything at the moment as the page is protected. So, can someone please add Bill Buckley (radio presenter), Nathan James (Broadcaster), Tommy Boyd and Adrian Love to the "notable presenters" section? In the meantime, I will continue to find more names and sources.RadioAnorakUK (talk) 19:53, 2 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. Just one word of advice. Try to get at least one good reference on each article from the very outset. As these are all living people we have to be extra careful to source everything correctly. --DanielRigal (talk) 19:58, 2 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No references[edit]

We really do need to get some references on this! --DanielRigal (talk) 20:04, 2 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have found a few references for this article but I can't add them! RadioAnorakUK (talk) 20:49, 2 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, yes I can! RadioAnorakUK (talk) 20:50, 2 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
