Bantayan Southern Institute is a non sectarian, co-educational institution in the island of Bantayan, Cebu, Philippines. The said Educational institution is a part of the University of Southern Philippines Foundation. Bantayan Southern Institute or simple BSI was established on the year 1945. Upon the evacuation of Mr. Escolastico S. Duterte to the thriving island group in northern Cebu, he reiterated the clamor of the constituents of Bantayan for an academic Institution in the Island. On July 1945, Engr and Mrs Agustin Jereza made the realization of the said dream by founding the BSI as the Bantayan Southern College. Through the year BSI has not squatted. It has broadened its horizons by withstanding the wear and tear of tims. When one speaks of cultural presentations, cheer dance and cheering competitions much more the innovative techniques, the thought comes to mind how BSI molded its students in the academic and other related fields.
