Page not to be deleted[edit]

This page should not be deleted due to insignificance. This is not a page about a website or a business, but is a page about a guerilla arts project. The project, Beautiful Angle, is based in Tacoma, Washington and has been in existence for approximately four and one-half years. During that time, it has been covered extensively by the major local press, including numerous articles in The Tacoma News Tribune, The Weekly Volcano, Toby Room, (all listed in Wikipedia) and mentions in The Stranger in Seattle. Beautiful Angle has had shows at a significant number of local galleries and events, including Bumbershoot, Handforth Gallery, and a current show at The Gallery That Happens to be at School of Visual Concepts in Seattle. The City of Tacoma considers the project to be significant enough to link to the project website from it's official city site, cityofdestiny.org.

The art project has included a large number of collaborators, including Art Chantry, whose work, according to his Wikipedia listing and many other respected sources, has been shown in MOMA, Smithsonian, and the Louvre.

Beautiful Angle is also a great example of a variety of significant art forms and expressions (which happen to be listed on Wikipedia), including Letterpress, Wheat Pasting, and Guerilla Art.

Again, let me restate. This listing is NOT about a Web site. It is about a guerilla arts project of established and growing significance.

And the significance of that art project is? The issue with the article isn't that it is a website, it's that the only suitable verification of the importance of the guerilla art project (that you currently have cited on the article page, and my brief web search didn't turn up anything better) are from minor local organizations. You don't have to be quite up to Art Chantry's reputation, but I think there's a need for a bit more than two paragraphs in the local newspaper and a show at your local library. Can you provide references for the claims about extensive coverage that show the coverage was significant? Is there any other press or academic coverage of your work? The content of respected independent coverage of Beautiful Angle is what we should be basing the article on, current content is more like a listing than an encyclopedia article. -- Siobhan Hansa 19:22, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed the speedy tag because I don't think this is a speedy candidate. However, I also don't think it's worthy of remaining in Wikipedia. It may be of growing significance, but Wikipedia is not a place to put things that might be significant in the future. Recommend PROD or AFD instead. howcheng {chat} 22:40, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
