1) The notability of this person itself is under question - he seems to be an assoc. prof at one of the lesser colleges in Delhi. 2) The list of "achievements" is inflated to include *each* news paper article that he has ever published, each talk he ever gave (down to monthly breakups in come cases!!) 3) The writing style is completely unlike other similar persons on Wikipedia. 4) Extensive passages from reviews have been added rather indiscriminately, and only serve to inflate the importance of person in question. 5) This article is closer to a CV than an encyclopedia article and should be deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.180.13.60 (talk) 19:24, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The unsigned person who wrote this seems to purposefully disregard the facts. 1) He only read about the teaching, and not the fact that prof. Gupt has authored four highly regarded (as per reviews) scholarly books, many articles and lectures around the world on his subject. 2) If you do a web search you will see many other articles and talks mentioned. 3) What exactly don't you like about the writing style? Be more precise. 4) What do you mean that passages have been added "rather indiscriminately"? Please expand on this. They were put there because they are third person, neutral comments about the importance of prof. Gupt's work. 5) Your asking for the article to be deleted, together with the great fuss about everything and the fact that you don't sign, makes you suspect. Do you happen to know Dr. Gupt personally, be a personal opponent or disliker, by any chance? I question your neutrality and your motives. Shantimar (talk) 22:22, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The questions about the legitimacy of the page on Prof. Bharat Gupt by an unsigned person sure seem to be sour grapes for someone who apparently does not appreciate all the scholarly work he has done. He is a solid scholar who has offered much to the academic community in his fields of expertise. I have used his work and I have recommended it to my own students as well. Please do not pull this page as it is an important resource. Ramdas Lamb —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.91.200.113 (talk) 16:20, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Prof Gupt is a respected member of the Indian academic community who has made a significant contribution to the dialogue of civilisations. I would lay my bets on a towering intellectual from one of the "lesser colleges" rather than a charlatan from Harvard. Mschandramouli (talk) 10:30, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not only have Prof Gupt's published works inspired academics but have been of great value to the practitioners of theatre. As a member of the Playwrights Guild, in the year 1998, I had attended a week long workshop by him sepcifically designed for playwrights'. The workshop had shaped our young minds and many of us studied his seminal work, The Dramatic Concepts, to understand the ancient theory of drama. His works have helped the cause of theatre and music. His contribution to Indological studies are well known and chronicled. I can't see who would be better suited for a wikipedia page than him? His works cross boundaries and cultures. Besides, I don't see how can one person's comments decide who can be written about? --Rashma —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rashma n kalsie (talkcontribs) 11:23, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I believe this settles it. I am removing the warnings put by just one isolated person with no real reason.Shantimar (talk) 18:32, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
