Sourcing, BLP, & promotionalism[edit]

The first half of the history section is based entirely on what the founder told people in interviews, and therefore has no objectivity. It should be limited to the demonstrable facts of what products the company made and its financing, and so forth, that can be sourced from sourced not originating from him.

The use of human interest sections like this is a promotional technique, to the extent I would nominate the article from G11 speedy deletion except that this part can be removed. As it contains BLP material, the material I remove cannot be added back without true third party sourcing, meaning a source that is not based on the information the founder or the company provided. Why "Bonobos"?[edit]

I'd love to see an explanation of why the company is named "Bonobos" -- what does clothing have to do with the make-love-not-war endangered primate who is tied with chimpanzees as our closest relative? That's the question that brought me to Wikipedia, as the Bonobos web site doesn't have any explanation. Not a high priority, I know, but can it at least be on our wish list?
