Installing skin without using Bootskin[edit]

Installing BootSkin unattended is simple matter of using the /silent switch, unfortunately there does not seem to be any way of applying a skin without actually clicking the apply button in the program.

Not clear. Is this trying to say there is no way of using a skin made for installation via Bootskin without installing Bootskin? Bootskin just automates and simplifies a process you can do manually and laboriously yourself. See this discussion of startup skins.
Note that Bootskin is just the installer and switcher for the skin - you have to have created, downloaded or otherwise obtained the actual skin already. If you don't mind minor hacking about (moving and renaming system files) and don't intend to change from your new startup skin, then Bootskin is unnecessary. It means that you can install a skin into BootSkin's internal library from the command line, but you cannot make it apply that skin. I'm not sure the line is appropriate at all as it seems to be a "howto". GreenReaper (talk) 06:34, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
