Band[edit]

Why is there info on a band here? That should be its own page. Also can somebody delete that phrase at the end. This isn't a dictionary.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.54.30.157 (talkcontribs) July 5, 2006.

I have deleted the band content. If an editor wants to restore it then they should create a new article Chess Club (band). However, at the moment the band fails WP:MUSIC (which is why I have not created the article) and it is liable to be deleted. BlueValour 19:37, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize for the entry. I was unaware of all of the rules for Wikipedia. When Chess Club wins its first Grammy (however unlikely) I'll be sure to start our own Chess Club (Band) entry. Until then ...64.50.95.2 22:57, 2 November 2006 (UTC) or Doug from Chess Club Rocks dot com since I don't have an account and the IP address is useless since it's nat'ed.[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia! No problem. BTW why not get a Wkipedia ID, that way you can edit more easilly? Any queries get on to me at my talk page. BlueValour 23:29, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Scholastic chess club[edit]

The original page under this title has been moved to Scholastic chess in the United States, a title more relevant to its content. I have redirected Scholastic chess club here because it is a more useful redirect. BlueValour (talk) 00:45, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree about the redirect: you're purposefully pointing away from the intended topic, which is self-defeating. --Muna (talk) 01:24, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, dunno, I'm not sure what the intended purpose of the Scholastic chess club redirect is? If someone searches on that term then they would find useful information here. Frankly at the new page Scholastic chess in the United States they would get a useful page on scholastic chess in the US but nothing on setting up a scholastic chess club which this page provides in the references. I wouldn't actually object to this redirect being deleted. BlueValour (talk) 01:44, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I can't see anyone searching for this anyway - isn't it called a School chess club? It certainly was in my day. 217.23.231.6 (talk) 13:24, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
School chess club is the UK formulation whereas Scholastic chess club is a US usage. BlueValour (talk) 22:26, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
BlueValour, simple solution: add the link to the Scholastic chess page. --Muna (talk) 18:50, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I have converted it to a DMB page which seems to cover all bases. BlueValour (talk) 22:21, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
