age of seal[edit]

The archaeological site of Chogha Mish was destroyed by fire in around 4000BCE. It was abandoned in the early fifth millennium following the destruction of its central, massive architectural complex. The center was relocated to Susa, a monumental mud brick platform with elaborate decorated buildings on top was built there; this too was destroyed, rebuilt and then abandoned. It is possible that Susa maintained its older system and traditions long after most sites had been abandoned and the transition to Uruk was already underway in Southern Mesopotamia. —-Frank Hole^[1]
