The claim that James IV was the "last king of Scotland before the Act of Union" is completely false: James IV was not even the last king before the Union of the Crowns, much less before the Act of Union.

Following James IV, before the Union of the Crowns there was James V, Mary, and James VI.

Following James VI's succession to the English crown there was him, Charles I, Charles II, James II, and the joint rule of William and Mary before Queen Anne and the Act of Union.

What modification of this claim is needed to make it true? Did Dundas serve James IV or a different James altogether? --Saforrest (talk) 18:47, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
