  • ... that despite being the first women's football team in Northern Ireland to sign players on professional contracts, Cliftonville Ladies F.C. were not the first club to actually register them? Source: From the Belfast Telegraph: "Sion Swifts Ladies have recruited the 27-year-old American midfield ace [Sioban Higgins] and, in turn, made her the first women’s professional footballer in Northern Ireland. While Cliftonville Ladies announced professional deals for 12 members of their first-team squad earlier this week, the Irish FA’s Comet system records Higgins as the first professional female to be registered."
    • ALT1: ... that in 2022, Northern Irish club Cliftonville Ladies F.C. qualified for the UEFA Women's Champions League for the first time in their history by winning the national league title? Source: From the Belfast Telegraph: "Cliftonville Ladies will take on Portuguese giants Sport Lisboa e Benfica in the first round of the Champions League after the preliminary draw pitted them together. The Women’s Premiership champions, who are making their debut in the tournament, will take on the Campeonato Nacional champions in their Group 6 tie on September 6 at a yet to be named venue. [...] John McGrady’s women qualified for the tournament by winning last year’s title and will now aim to become the first Northern Irish side to reach the main draw."

    • Comment: I've decided to nominate this article I recently accepted as a draft and further expanded; special thanks to Bobbob19 for creating it in the first place! I know it's probably too late to ask a September 6 placement (that's the day Cliftonville will play their first UWCL game ever), but I hope September 9 can be fine; no worries if the hook can't make it on time, though. On a side note, I'll try to get my own QPQ review over the line as soon as possible...

Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
QPQ: Done.

Overall: @Oltrepier: Good article. Though the article does seem to be missing information on when the club was created and should be added. Also, it looks like the prep queues for september 9 are already full so it doesn't look like your article can be added. Onegreatjoke (talk) 00:33, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Onegreatjoke: Thank you very much, and no worries about the deadline! The fact about the club's foundation is that I just couldn't find any clear information... Still, I've managed to add some more historical background: now we know for a fact that the team exists at least since 2003. Please, let me know if it looks better!
