Notability[edit]

Wondering how this meets WP:SOFTWARE? Ghits reveal a bunch of download links but no independent writeups that I can find, only sources cited in the article are from the developer. Maybe a merge to version control and/or peer-to-peer might be more appropriate? Seraphimblade 20:43, 24 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting stuff, thanks for the links. Seraphimblade 22:14, 24 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I added a few links to reviews, but I'm not sure what you expect from an article about a commercial product. Do you have the same objections to BitKeeper or Source Safe? What makes them notable? The size of the company, or the size of their marketing department?

Code Co-op is a very innovative product. It was the first distributed version control system--before BeetKeeper. It's the first system to use emai. It's the first system to implement peer-to-peer wiki and wiki database. And Reliable Software is a company that not only makes Code Co-op, but also publishes free C++ book, tutorials, souce code, a Windows API library, a Windows API wiki encyclopedia, and so on.

The main objection I had was that the links were all from primary sources. Given the evident amount of secondary material now cited, it would seem this does meet notability. You'll also notice I withdrew the primary sources and notability templates as the concerns were addressed. Seraphimblade 22:20, 24 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
