Can someone expand the history section? Contai has had a major role in India's Freedom Struggle as far as I am aware. Birendranath Sasmal was from here. Can someone more familiar with the material please elaborate?

I've removed the Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay and Mahatma Gandhi pictures since they are better suited to be seen on the linked biography pages. I've also added an infomation panel and edited for grammar. An expansion of the article is in order.--Antorjal 01:37, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
