Picture of sign[edit]

I have removed the picture of the sign again. The picture is is badly composed. It is at an odd angle and part of the name is cut off. It also gives outdated information. The headteacher has changed since that sign was put up. The image adds nothing to the article and actually detracts from the article. GB fan 00:37, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Serious need to update this page[edit]

The Coppice Spring page is incredibly negative and hugely potentially damaging now as it does not reflect the reality of the current school at all. The students at Coppice Spring are very upset that the school, which is now part of the outstanding Delta Academy Trust, is represented in Wikipedia in this way and they are constantly asking to get the page taken down or to change it so people who are trying to find out about the school understand how far it has come and that it is now a positive and nurturing learning environment. Coppice Spring School is a new start for the students and they have worked very hard this year to transform their learning and behavioural attitudes. That the Wikipedia page focuses so heavily on the old School is wrong and is doing these children, their teachers and any prospective parents researching the school a huge disservice. I would like to edit the page and remove the content about the previous troubled Grangeside school as it no longer exists and should not be discussed on a page which is entitled Coppice Spring School. How do I go about this - I have found that I can't simply edit the page with a simple explaination such as 'updating information'. Has anyone any advice? Hm. Your edits were removing a large amount of sourced content, and "bringing the page up to date" is not quite the right edit summary for such edits. Bold textThe history section of this article isn't complete, I don't have a Wikipedia account to edit the article and I may be too closely associated with the school so I'll just leave the information here for other editors to introduce into the article. Additionally, when using the search box to search for the school the description still says that it is a pupil referral unit, which it hasn't been since 2010.

Before the school was known as Basingstoke School Plus it was originally known as Hawthorns School, which was closed in 2004. It became Basingstoke School Plus, a pupil referral unit, which was later renamed Grangeside, not Grangeside School. It didn't become a secondary school until 2010, when it was renamed Grangeside School under the leadership of headteacher Gareth Evans.

The outdated statement "current incumbent" refers to former headteacher Paul Scott, who replaced Dominic Geraghty after the 2012 Ofsted inspection.
