Additions from Anglo American[edit]

Hi, my name is Robyn and I work in the Communications group at Anglo American. I’m new to Wikipedia, but understand and respect the rules of maintaining NPOV and making sure that items posted are verifiable and not original research.
Additionally, I recognize that since I work for Anglo American I have a clear conflict of interest and will utilize the talk pages to discuss comments regarding the page. My aim for participating is not to transform the article into a glowing review, but to transparently assist with any information requests or address factual clarifications that might help continue to evolve the article so that it provides a thorough overview of the company that reflects general consensus. With that in mind, I have followed the gradual evolution of this page and noticed a few points that I wanted to suggest that might help as the page continues to develop out of its Stub-Class quality rating:

Consider adding additional responsibilities to the summary paragraph, such as: “She chairs Anglo American’s Executive Committee and sits on the Safety and Sustainable Development Committee (http://www.angloamerican.co.uk/aa/about/leadership/executive/).”
- Not only is Carroll the first non-South African CEO of Anglo American, but also the first female
  (http://www.nytimes.com/2006/10/25/business/worldbusiness/25mine.html?_r=3&oref=slogin).
- Forbes magazine came out with its 2008 list of most powerful women in the world and Carroll is listed at number five now (http://www.forbes.com/business/lists/2008/11/biz_powerwomen08_Cynthia-Carroll_4PVY.html).
- Under the “Early Years & Career” section, please note that Carroll is no longer a director of Sara Lee, AngloGold Ashanti Limited, the American Aluminum Association (http://www.aluminum.org/AM/Template.cfm?Section=Home&template=/CM/HTMLDisplay.cfm&ContentID=22918) and the International Aluminum Institute (http://www.world-aluminium.org/About+IAI/Our+work/IAI+Board). - Also under the “Early Years & Career” section it is important to note that Carroll did not start the initiative to sell off the two mines or create the employee ownership plan, this was started soon after the South Africa Mining Charter was approved in 2002 (before Carroll’s arrival) outlining commitments that mining companies were required to make (http://www.southafrica.info/business/trends/empowerment/charters.htm), including black economic empowerment transactions.
- Additionally it is important to note that Cynthia Carroll has launched a number of new initiatives within the business since she started, including an asset optimization project; the introduction of the value based management methodology within Anglo American; and a push to improve safety performance. Adding information to the Cynthia Carroll page[edit]

My name is Robyn and I work on the Communications team at Anglo American. Last week I posted a comment regarding some points that might help as the page continues to develop out of its Stub-Class quality rating. Since we haven’t heard anything back from the community I’m planning on making the previously suggested updates in the next few days. I recognize that because I work for Anglo American I have a clear conflict of interest, but since the suggested updates reflect similar items posted in articles of other FTSE 100 companies, we believe these are appropriate additions to the article. I understand that this might be changed by various editors and that is why I have attempted to include language that maintains NPOV and is verifiable online. My aim for these updates is not to make this article a glowing review of the company, but to make sure it includes some basic background information that reflects general consensus.
