Song and engagement[edit]

Please stop editing about the solo song "Oro bianco", there is no reference and was not an official release, also removing the sentence about being currently engaged because that is written in the news.--ParoleSonore (talk) 22:57, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Personal life[edit]

Please do not add information about sexual innuendo, specifically the sentence, "He has described himself as heterosexual but due to his age also as "curious".[14]. The information is irrelevant for an encyclopedia, gives false assumptions about his sexual orientation, personal life, and is not notable enough. David is heterosexual man and there's nothing notable about it at all. His sometimes androgynous look at the stage is already explained in the text as part of his artistic expression. Not only he is in a heterosexual relationship for 4 years with his female partner, but; the interview in Corriere della Sera (11 February 2021) has a description of his sexuality as part of the wider discussion about the sexuality of the young generation, of refuting to experiment while still being young only because of prejudices; in an interview for Le Iene (22 December 2020) when asked "Man, woman or both?" he replied "Women"; in an interview for Cosmopolitan (22 February 2019) talked about his relatively many sexual relations with women for his young age; in an interview for Vanity Fair Italia (15 December 2017) talked about his artistic exaggeration on the stage as part of his stage persona which is separate from his personal life and sexuality; a Di Lei (18 December 2017) article also has information about his opinion what kind of women he likes and so on.--ParoleSonore (talk) 17:39, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The same goes for previous personal relationships or sexual experiences with women we basically don't know anything important. Damiano David is also too young personality for this information to have any relevance. Please check WP:NOTEVERYTHING, WP:NOTGOSSIP, WP:BLPGOSSIP, WP:PUBLICFIGURE, WP:NOTSCANDAL and common sense before editing this information as well.--ParoleSonore (talk) 16:16, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with Lestare12 that sources should prevail. I've not checked that specific source, but if the information was willingly shared in an interview then it's fine to at least consider. Nemo 06:27, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
See the guidelines. Not everything which is verifiable should be mentioned on Wikipedia especially on BLP articles for various reasons. Also see comment by Toddst1 who is an experienced editor. He immediately saw that Lestare12's edit was against the guidelines.--ParoleSonore (talk) 11:02, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure why you're all so fired up about "innuendos" and about proving that «David is heterosexual man». This is not really the place to debate it, Wikipedia is not a forum to discuss your own personal research on the sexuality of people. In fact, your insistence on placing labels on people can be considered a WP:BLPTALK violation itself, especially when you use labels other than those chosen by the individuals themselves (at some point you wrote someone was "bisexual" while they had used another term).
Per MOS:IDENTITY and Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Biography#Sexuality it's fine to mention someone's sexual orientation, as long as it's not given undue weight. It's been discussed as part of their public persona and activities, so there's no question that it's notable enough for a brief mention. However per WP:BLPRS we need to use only the best sources possible. An interview with Corriere della sera/Sette is among the best sources one can hope for; from [1] [2] and various other edits I see there's some confusion on how to translate «Eterosessuale, però c'ho 22 anni, sono un curiosone». I think it's best to just focus on how to neutrally and accurately reference this statement; a direct quotation is probably best.
As for WP:BLPGOSSIP, I see there's some constant adding and removing news about a supposed status of being "engaged" with someone. Some previous relationships were also added and removed multiple times. This seems a more serious issue as it's definitely gossip. The current sources are quite poor: it's just an article which reinterprets an Instagram post by the supposed "fidanzata". I would suggest to find something more reliable, to make sure the various statements (2017, "relationship" and "is") are properly sourced. Nemo 16:24, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No, this is exactly the place to have a list of reliable references to understand and in the end reach a consensus about a specific topic which was part of the article. Your argumentation about sexual orientation is nonsensical. As for his relationship you obviously didn't read and understand the references because his current partner is not "supposedly" his partner. Will add further references for it. --ParoleSonore (talk) 17:20, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Why only Damiano?[edit]

Is there a specific reason why we have an article on Damiano David but not the other band members, i.e. Victoria De Angelis (redirect), Thomas Raggi and Ethan Torchio? Thanks. Wbcgqbvj (talk) 11:24, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe there exist a better place to ask this question? It is most probably related to WP:NOTABILITY and WP:BLP. From the beginning he is the standout member of the band, there exist many reliable sources focusing only on his life, career and style, also events like the false drug accusation which gathered much notoriety. I doubt this amount of sources and information exist for other members. As winners of Eurovision possibly all of them should have individual articles, but those three won the contest as a band, are younger than him and didn't do anything in their solo career nor are seemingly prominent for their playing style for now. They remind me of the band Tokio Hotel where only the singer Bill Kaulitz has an article.--ParoleSonore (talk) 15:02, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • After the initial use of their full name, people should be referred to by their surname as per MOS:SURNAME. Suonii180 (talk) 13:19, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
