"...requires very little skill"
This line is inaccurate it requires touch typing skill as well as focus. The citation following the sentence only refers to the fact that it can be done at home. I'm going to change it to something like "requires little specialized skill aside from touch typing as well as a modicum of focus" - AbstractClass (talk) 18:39, 15 September 2012 (UTC)

Comment may be irrelevant, but it's funny nonetheless. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.28.158.31 (talk) 05:48, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
When a data entry clerk is simply scanning documents or photos into a computer they don't type anything into the computer - they simply watch the hopper to make sure it doesn't get jammed with foreign objects like paper-clips, staples, pens, etc. It is not good to redirect typist here because the professions are so different. A data entry clerk might be someone who does a little bit of typing, but if you refer to a secretary as a data entry clerk because she types letters you will offend her for sure.Scottonsocks (talk) 23:50, 18 February 2011 (UTC)
I think I have finished most of the essential work on typist. The term now directs to audio typist instead of here which is what most people expect it to mean. Audio typist has a lot of information on it that still requires work because so many typists now work in that area. At the top of audio typist it has a link to the new disambiguation page for typist which links to five articles about typist.Scottonsocks (talk) 23:53, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
