DORA powers[edit]

The powers under DORA did not include "executive powers for as long as war continued to suppress public criticism, imprison people without trial, and commandeer economic resources for the war effort". Suppress public criticism, imprison without trial and commandeer economic resources were not powers or aims under the act. There are powers to impose censorship, imprison and quaranteen people under certain circumstances, and conscript assets and people.
