Singles & Promotional singles[edit]

There has been no discussion but multiple revisions on what classifies as a single and what classifies as a promotional single (or should) so I wanted to bring it here:

- No Police and Roll With Us should be classified as promotional singles. Yes, Roll With Us was released as a singular track before Amala's release however there has been no evidence or proof to support that it was pushed as a single or got sent to radio. If there is for any of these songs, please source it.

- All Nighter and Casual are not promotional singles. They were random Soundcloud releases in their demo formats, posted on Doja's Soundcloud amongst many other songs that are free to view on this very page. Just because they were ultimately included on the album tracklist does not make them promotional singles as they were never officially released until the album was out nor was an album even announced around the time they were uploaded.

- Candy was not officially released in 2016. A demo version of the song was posted and later deleted by Doja (which is still available to find on a youtube re-upload), but not officially released and the final version has major differences.

- Cyber Sex an official single? Although a visual for the song was dropped on the night of Hot Pink's release, there has been few sources that say it was an actual single and it has not been sent to radio or received any push. Although the same argument can be made for Bottom Bitch, there is still articles and Doja herself calling it a single whereas Cyber Sex has none of the above.

I agree with all of this, but why are Rules and Bottom Bitch classified as singles? I’m curious. They don't seem to have been sent to radio or given live performances to promote them.--Ottamieh (talk) 06:29, 10 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In my opinion, they shouldn't be classified as singles since RCA neglected to send the songs to radios or give any promotion, however, some publications called both songs "singles" from the album, so they do have to be classified as "singles", despite others just calling the tracks "songs". Bottom Bitch: ^[1]^[2]^[3] Rules: ^[4]^[5]

Also Rules did get live performance videos! ^[6] ^[7]

Rules is definitely more of a single than Bottom Bitch is though.

@HeyitsBen: Interestingly enough, publications claim that Cyber Sex is just an album track while another claims it's the first single from Hot Pink^[8]^[9]
