3/4" scale?[edit]

Someone should recheck the math on the statements made about the three-quarter inch scale. If 3/4" = 1 scale foot, then 1 inch should equal 16 scale inches, making it 1:16 scale, not 1:18. One or more of the given statements are incorrect. — Joe Webster 12:26, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, I really wonder about the fact that this problem seems to occur almost everywhere. I stumbled upon it because 1,5" or 1/8th scale is very popular among miniature railways builders. As a consequence half the size, or 3/4" would mean 1/16th - an officially defined scale by MOROP. 1/18th is a very common scale for model cars. I don't want to judge an "ideal" scale. I'm just interested in how this story of 3/4 equals 1/18th became so popular. --Peter Walt A. 23:56, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation[edit]

Given that "Dollhouse" refers to several different things, and people searching for it are more likely to be looking for the TV Series rather than the miniature replica, I believe that "Dollhouse" should lead directly to the disambiguation page. --Poh Tay Toez (talk) 23:54, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notable dollhouses[edit]

Material keeps being re-added that is problematic and goes against the core policies of Wikipedia. All material must be verifiable by reliable sources. This generally means magazines and newspapers, not blogs or websites of unknown origin (and no mirrors of Wikipedia itself.) You cannot espouse your own theories or conclusion either, that goes against Wikipedia's policy against original research. Also material has to be presented in a neutral manner, you cannot make it seem like some dollhouses are uniquely special compared to others when there are no sources to support that assertion. And don't use puffery and empty fluff words to make some dollhouses seem more special either, no "palatial" "museum quality" and so on, just give the readers the facts. And keep in mind that this article is an overview article that only needs summaries of the most basic, barebones details of each notable dollhouse. If you want to go more in depth, do so on the individual articles for each dollhouse. If any of this seems unclear, I highly recommend reading through the Core content policies.
