Contested deletion[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... (your reason here) --N7912 (talk) 22:22, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... (This is a company with historical significance that links to many other wikipedia articles) --216.164.116.19 (talk) 22:49, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The tone and content on this page is not promotional. The page simply states various facts about the Draken International corporation.

An admin will be along shortly and assess it to see if it meets the criteria for speedy deletion or not. - Ahunt (talk) 22:26, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't meet the criteria for speedy deletion, so I declined it. Unless the abysmal references can be improved, however, it may not survive AFD. I've seen televised news coverage of this company, so I suspect it's notable. The challenge is to find reliable sources to prove it, not merely press releases. ~Amatulić (talk) 19:00, 25 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the input. I have it noted to do an extensive ref check as soon as I can and see if I can find some third party references about the company. - Ahunt (talk) 00:35, 26 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I gotta say, when I saw televised coverage some time ago, I thought it was a pretty cool concept for a business. That uniqueness and originality makes it notable (as in, worthy of note) in the real world, but not by Wikipedia's criteria.
I see some news coverage by a Czech publication that seems to be a legitimate news source about Czech and Slovak military topics, according to its profile page. The news item is at http://www.atmonline.cz/news/2013/leden/160113b.htm
Here's another, from the Australian press: http://australianaviation.com.au/2012/08/draken-international-acquires-ex-kiwi-skyhawks/
I'd also consider Defense Update (we even have an article on it) to be a reliable source: http://defense-update.com/20120808_skyhawknz_a4_draken.html
Hope those can help. ~Amatulić (talk) 00:58, 26 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yup those are great! That at least shows that we should have an article on the company as it meets WP:N, just need to fix the article we have! It's on my short list, just RL is getting in the way of editing right now! - Ahunt (talk) 12:32, 26 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
