Goal and future of this page

[edit]

This page is intended to provide all information concerning Eger wine region and its wines. The goal is to reach at least the a GA-class or rather A-class status.

In my opinion the article should contain the following things in order to do that:

1. Detailed geographical description of the wine region:
- soil
- climate
- exact delimitation of the whole wine region and all sub-regions, maybe including the most famous/best vineyard locations

2. Description of the legal framework
- vineyard regimes
- varieties used
- vinification regulations
- descriptions of sub-regions and sub-denominations
NOTE: it is worth to wait for the major changes of the legal framework that will be announced later this year

3. Wine character
- desrcibe the character of the wines of Eger generally
- dsription of the character of the wines coming from the subregions and sub-denominations

4. Miscellaneous
- we need a MAP!

- tourist events
- maybe prices (?)
- history

Articles concerning subregions and sub-denominations of the region (like Egri Bikavér or Egerszóláti Olaszrizling) should be integrated to this article, and all links to those pages should be redirected here.
