Elathur is a village where all religional people living without struggle. It is in the path of river 'Kollidam'.Though look like an undeveloped village it has lot of well educated people , some of them are engineers ,some of them are doctors.Almost all the people belongs to agriculture , the agricultural works belong to the river 'Kollidam'.The river 'Kollidam' is never get lost entirely. It always with the water even in the summer. This village has four famous temples, one is the Mariamman Temple,another is the Ayyanar temple. The famous festival celebrated by all the religious people in this village is called as 'Kamitti'. This function is celebrated in the mid of 'March'('Masi' - Tamil) every year.This village has spectacular as well as disciplined house structures.The people of this village kept this village very clean and peace. This village has an hospital,a post office and as well as an elementary school upto five. Most of the childs used to study elementary classes in this school,afterwards they continue their study in some other schools.Just two buses are available for transport to get to the nearer town of this village.Each one come after one hour. This village is located between three main towns like sirkali,mayiladuthurai,chidambaram.
