Replaced?

[edit]

It claims this material has been replaced by modern alloys. I don't think so. For example, a French Oven still fetches $190 on Amazon [1]. —BenFrantzDale 03:57, 13 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The only thing it's used for now is Dutch Ovens

[edit]

Enameled cast iron used be used for every type of cookware. Now it's only used for Dutch oven/casserole type pots and even then, is now more of a luxury type item than a common piece of cookware. I'll change the description to say: "has been largely replaced" instead of "replaced".
