Incomplete
[edit]This article leaves a lot out. When did St. Ignace become Fort de Buade? Especially, what happened in 1701? Cadillac asked for permission but...? Fort de Buade was abandoned. When? Then what was going on between 1701 to 1715? Fort Michilimackinac was established in 1715 again at the Straits of Mackinac, this time on the south side. Dangnad (talk) 05:21, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
I am contradicting my own note above. It looks like "Ft du Baude" and "Michilimackinac" were synonymous when Cadillac took over in 1701.
Also re my second sentence above, it was "Mission of St Ignace" (founded by Marquette); it was not a military post. Ft du Baude was erected in 1681 near Mission St Ignace, all of this on the north side of the Straits. Dangnad (talk) 20:51, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
The image is of the Ojibwe Museum in St. Ignace not Fort de Buade. I could not figure out how to add a picture.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Theresa Weller (talk • contribs) 21:55, July 25, 2013 (UTC)

- Done, sort of. Since the exact location of the fort is unknown, I used slightly different point near the shore in downtown St. Ignace. Deor (talk) 23:24, 25 November 2014 (UTC)
