Merge[edit]

I suppose this could be merged into the page on hydraulic fracturing; I think the bill doesn't have a number yet in either chamber. swain (talk) 19:52, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Context[edit]

So is this some kind of new proposed international law, or is it specific to a country? It doesn't say and lacks any context. Can someone please provide this context. Canterbury Tail talk 21:48, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lead[edit]

I've expanded the opener and added more links; I can ferret out more context for it if it's still unclear. Thanks for checking! swain (talk) 23:28, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I modified the lead to make it more clear. Beagel (talk) 15:44, 12 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Don't merge[edit]

This bill is a major issue and getting a lot of media coverage in the US. My vote would be to retain it as a stand alone page that provides more detail than is practical to include in the frac article.Smm201`0 (talk) 13:57, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Adding information about campaign contributions from different groups, PACs, etc.[edit]

It would be informative to include actual amounts of contributions from different factions. I'll try to find the information and a source. If anyone already has this info, please add it.Smm201`0 (talk) 14:59, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Original research[edit]

This article contained synthesis which are removed now. It described several cases where the link between water contamination and hydraulic fracturing is most likely (but not proved); however, there was no links by sources between these cases and this legislative proposal. Therefore that qualified as WP:SYNTH and was removed. Even more, as these issues belong to another articles (mainly to Environmental impact of hydraulic fracturing in the United States and Hydraulic fracturing in the United States this is qualified as WP:POVFORK. The second issue was a allude linkage between the industry opposition to this act and industry contributions. Again, without a third party reliable source which provides that kind of linkage, this is qualified again as WP:SYNTH. Beagel (talk) 15:57, 12 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Current status[edit]

This article needs an update what is the current status of this bill. Beagel (talk) 15:58, 12 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
