Notability[edit]

The notability of Hannes Fuch is questionable. From the notability guidelines:

Athletes:
Competitors and coaches who have competed in a fully professional league, or a competition of equivalent standing in a non-league sport such as swimming, golf or tennis.
Competitors and coaches who have competed at the highest level in amateur sports (who meet the general criteria of secondary sources published about them).

Since he falls under the amateur level, he meets the first part (competed at highest level). Now the second part needs to be satisfied. find secondary sources published about him. Jons63 (talk) 22:01, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And if he has won some international tournaments, is he notable enough to be included? Walint (talk) 22:09, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Are there secondary sources about him? If there are, add them in showing he is notable. If you can find and add the sources there should be no question of his notability and the tags can be removed. Jons63 (talk) 22:14, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't found the sources, but there are the articles of this tournaments in Wikipedia. If there are no links, there's a template for this, and you have added it. But there's no relationship between the sources and the notability, so I think the template of notability shouldn't be there. Anyway, you can do what you want, I'm not going to discuss about it anymore or begin an edition war. Walint (talk) 22:20, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have now removed the tag. WP:ATHLETE no longer mentions general notability limits for top-level amateur athletes, and the current wording specifically cites Olympics competitors as generally notable. Therefore, the subject does meet the standards in place, and an AfD on notability grounds would likely be unsuccessful. Giants2008 (27 and counting) 19:32, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
