I'm not removing SjanakiPsusheela is removing the details continuously Darshan Kavadi (talk) 10:41, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Darshan Kavadi
Please read my message in last section on this article properly. '.. Why are removing the details of Harapanahalli? ..' reasonable question.
  • ".. I'm not removing .. is removing the details continuously .." Avoid such complaining on article talk pages.
  • SjanakiPsusheela is little more experienced than you, isn't it? and SJPS may know few Wikipedia policies better than you isn't it?
  • There is a concept of WP:Secondary and WP:RS read those properly. You shall need to provide references from reliable news media like The Hindu news paper, Indian Express, India Today or Kannada / Tamil local language best news paper from your city will do. If you are providing non-English source then you will need to provide sentence in original language along with proper English translation.
  • Last but not least usually Indian local language scripts are not allowed to be used in the article. (Reference sentence you can provide in your language but with with proper translation) translation You will need to use Roman i.e. English script.
  • Please note, for challenged content Un till you provide proper references acceptable to other Wikipedians you shall need to remove objected content and that is prevailing Wikipedia policy and practice. You can not keep adding that without first provide agreeable reference.
  • (Unfortunately name plates and boards in your place are not agreeable references on Wikipedia because those are not verifiable Wikipedia needs reference that other editors can verify and crosscheck)
  • You can ask your querries at WP:Teahouse too
I hope this helps and looking forward to your positive co-operation.

About protecting the page.

[edit]

SJanakiPSusheela (talk) 00:58, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Need to protect this page from continuous vandalism by a locale. He is adding a local media sobrequet as Other name of the city without any proper sources. I request the adminstrators to protect the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SJanakiPSusheela (talkcontribs) 01:04, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Content dispute resolution

[edit]

@Darshan Kavadi and @SJanakiPSusheela, I came across info on edit war at this article @ WP:RPPI. I suggest both of you to stop edit war with immediate effect (Since it seems it has already gone too long) and leave the article at the last stage as is without disturbing the article before you find consensus here at this talk page.

  • A) Avoid possibility of any personal accusations against each other.
  • B) Discuss line by line point by point one issue at a time. Here at this page.
  • c) When content is contested one is needed to provide WP:Reliable sources acceptable to Wikipedia community consensus.
  • D) Follow WP:DR rules for dispute resolution.

You can ping me or ask for help at WP:Teahouse for your queries, if any.

'The Heart of Karnataka' ?

[edit]

@Expertallen7

Your this edit

".. Being called ‘’The Heart of Karnataka’’ .."

seem to repeat similar content edit by an ip in 2011

".. Davangere district being heart of the state, Harapanahalli is situated at its center being heart/center Taluk in the whole state. .."

When searched on google my primary search indicated there may be some references to Davangere or Davangere district as "Heart of Karnataka".

Whether even those references for Davangere are reliable needs to be found out at WP:RSN as per WP:RS policy. I could not come across any WP:RS stating Harpanhalli is referred as "Heart of Karnataka" or even 'Harapanahalli is situated at center of Davangere district'.

Please note existent Wikipedia policies do not allow for WP:OR or WP:SYNTH (Also read MOS:FLOWERY) and users need to provide WP:RS sources and community WP:Consensus when contested.

As such over a period of time district and state borders keep changing, and center of a geography may keep changing. So how far it is WP:DUE and what substantive WP:RS you can provide? If not then I suggest it would be better to drop this idea. Bookku (talk) 15:52, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
