Formatting and Notable Alumni
[edit]Please Read Before Editing
Please do not add notable alumni without citing sources.
Please do not make the formatting for the Sports any worse than it is.
It's not perfect, but it's better than what it was.

Compliments and suggestions
[edit]The references to the renovations in the 1970's continue to hold several inaccuracies. The Juniors and Seniors of HHS and the entire Thomas Jefferson High School class met in double sessions at the TJHS campus during the 1976 session while renovations were performed on HHS. The renovations were completed during the summer of 1976 and the 1977 school year had each High School back to its normal campuses. The sophomore class of HHS joined GWJHS in double session during the renovations not the entire class. Someone keeps changing these facts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.50.133.43 (talk) 04:22, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
Mike Newman hasnt graduated, and what is the thing on Fason as God etc.
This is one of the oldest high schools in florida and is a landmark, as well as beautiful. Therefore, i think a pictre is necessary, maybe we can get one from during the construction with the portables as well. Whatup 019:21, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
two things removed/changed-
"This is similar to the McDonalds located across the street from King High School, where a student was killed in the 2005-2006 school year."
should go in King's article, sounds like a feeble attempt by the administration (who is known to edit this page) to scare kids that go to McDonalds when they shouldn't. removed.
"Although there were several local gangs in the surrounding area, few (if any) had ever vandalized the school with graffiti." i feel this is unneccesary, but will leave it for now, i'm just changing the tense.
Sorry, a couple edits. Those are actually true.
counterfeit edit
[edit]A recent edit under my ID, with the edit summary "men's baseball champs", was not my work. I did indeed insert a comment about the 1967 or 68 mem's baseball team state championship, but this somehow became a rather sarcastic comment on a magazine rating. Not clear how it was accomplished, but I decline the credit. ww 07:24, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

Formatting.
[edit]Please stop formatting the championships to include numbers and hyphens. Adding the parentheses is poor formatting, especially when the number of appearances is right there anyway. Hyphens + colons are not good formatting either. Please stop changing it. - Jake - Bladeswin | Talk to me | 04:03, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
Request for Third Opinion
[edit]For whomever replies to my request, here's the lowdown. After a friend showed me this page, I decided to take it on as a pet project. I redesigned the page, added sources, removed unsourced material and reduced the sports section to show only the most important to save space by moving it to a list page. The list page was also an attempt at a peace truce (and plea to stop). Since I first started, User:Ebrikowski has repeatedly put back the unsourced material (I have posted warnings on their talk page) and I suppose wishes the runner-up years to stay on the main page despite being on the list page. I say "I suppose" because User:Ebrikowski has not posted here, nor replied to comments on their talk page, nor commented on mine. The only response I get to comments is a revert of my work.
I think that the page looks much better than it once did, where the sports section took up over half the page's length, and I would revert the page back, but I already reverted the unsourced material, and I know my previous edits can be considered reverts (as can User:Ebrikowski's continued reversions-by-edit) I figured it best to avoid reverting again and instead look for a third opinion. I would much prefer the Runner-up years only listed on the list page, not on the main article. They don't seem like information a casual reader would care to see when looking for information on the High School. Please help resolve this. - Bladeswin | Talk to me | 04:37, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
- EDIT: I had to revert once I saw what User:Ebrikowski was changing in the format of the site. Subheadings are more appropriate in my opinion than is bold text. Please stop doing massive formatting reversions of the article! I'm getting tired of reorganizations! - Bladeswin | Talk to me | 04:38, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
Third Opinion
[edit]After reading the description of the conflict, looking through the List of Hillsborough High School Sports Awards, and reading the Sports Championships section, it is my opinion that there is no need to include runner-up years in the Sports Championships section, for the following reasons: a)listing runner-up years would lengthen the Sports Championships section unnecessarily. b)Given that the full List of Hillsborough High School Sports Awards is linked to the section, it is unnecessary to list runner-up years here. Again, it is my opinion that runner-up years should not be included in the Sports Championships section. Corvus coronoides ContributionsMGo Blue 20:32, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
- different opinion--proposed merge
there is no need for the List article at all, and a simple list of years of championships is sufficient. I've accordingly proposed a merge. The names of winners is for the school web site, unless they were also subsequently notable, in which case they go as alums. DGG (talk) 01:13, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
Questionable Citations
[edit]The citation from usf is questionable. They say that they played the University of Florida in football, and yet the University of Florida's history of games does not include any mention to Hillsborough at all. See here: http://gatorzone.com/football/history/yby_scores.pdf Also, the third opinion specifically says that there's no need to mention Runners Up at all. Please follow the decision. - Jake - Bladeswin | Talk to me | 14:55, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
