Year of birth?[edit]

The Library of Congress authority file for James Dashner lists his year of birth as 1972, not 1973. Can anyone give a source for the currently listed 1973 year? Katya (talk) 15:38, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I found confirmation on his blog, so I'm changing the year. (His profile currently lists his age as 37 and this post indicates that his birthday is in November.) Katya (talk) 16:02, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Information[edit]

(deleted 2011)[edit]

I deleted this from the article because it didn't belong in the area it was at.

Dashner's series The 13th Reality is about a boy named Atticus Higginbottom who receive mysterious letters from a man named M.G. He has sent these letters to several other kids around the world because a thirteenth reality has appeared and is constructed with a mutated version of Chi'karda (the mysterious force that controls quantum physics). M.G.'s loyal assistant Mistress Jane betrays M.G. at the discovery of this reality and tries to use the mutated Chi'karda to enslave the other realities and eventually the Prime reality. At LTUE in 2011, Dashner stated to a fan, when asked about it, that there would only be four books in the 13th Reality series, saying that he felt that it was "dragging on". Books 4 and 5 will be combined into one book and edited down to the length of a regular novel in the series. The expected release date is April of 2012.

However, if citations can be found for any of it, it seems like useful information to put into the article for The 13th Reality. Alphius (talk) 01:49, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

2013[edit]

The 2013 history spans several large deletions mainly but not only unsourced(maybe copied) book and series blurbs --as one series blurb was deleted in 2011, above. They may be worth skimming.

I checked the 2012 history, and back to 2011-09-15 (above) and found no comparable major activity. --P64 (talk) 18:04, 27 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Cut from the lead[edit]

I wrote a usual lead with narrower scope. The previous version put equal emphasis on writing for adults (perhaps also series fiction) and mentioned The Jimmy Fincher Saga as well as The 13th Reality. I guess Jimmy Fincher is the writing for adults; [1] tags novels in the four other series "young-adult" or "juvenile", does not tag Jimmy Fincher novels.

Cut-and-paste from the previous lead (2):

  • (quote) Dashner also wrote the first book of the Infinity Ring series and it is anticipated that he will write the last book as well.
  • (quote) He has been published by Cedar Fort, Inc.[1] and by Shadow Mountain Publishing, known for their popular children's novels series Leven Thumps and Fablehaven. However, Delacorte—a division of Random House— published his new series, The Maze Runner, the first of which was released October 2009.[2]

  2. ^ http://jamesdashner.blogspot.com [specify]

This information does belong in the article. The latter certainly not in the lead. The former needs some expansion, preferably some wikilinkage, and may then be lead-worthy.
