Cleanup and POV in the section "Continuation of the series"[edit]

Someone (who isn't me; I know next to nothing about this series) needs to clean up and rewrite this section. It is not very encyclopaedic in tone, and is more than anything else just a complaint that Pournelle hasn't written the next installment yet, which isn't really appropriate. The wording also fails to live up to NPOV. E.g.:

"Unfortunately, from 1987 to the present (2006) no such sequel has materialized, and there are numerous complaints about this in the book reviews on Amazon and Pournelle's own web site. Pournelle has chosen to leave his faithful readers and publisher in limbo..."

I've read the series and the criticism is true and as are the many comments about the series not being finished despite the authors constant claims that it's next in line. Valid criticism is allowed in NPOV. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jackaman (talkcontribs) 06:46, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've also read the series, and the perennial nature of Pournelle's claims to be working on it are certainly newsworthy, but the tone of the current article section sounds POV to me. I believe the section should be modified so as to give it more of a NPOV tone than it currently has. Mike (talk) 08:07, 25 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with cyberherbalist[mike]. I think it would be sufficient to provide a link to the first mention by pournelle that he's working on the book, and any references that he's still working on it, and that it's not done. I don't think referencing the blogosphere adds any real value. Thengeveld (talk) 13:57, 16 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • There, cleaned up the mess, which took me all of three minutes. (Heaven knows why this needed to hang fire for years, but.) As far as Jackaman's comment goes, indeed, valid criticism is allowed in NPOV ... valid criticism, that is. Links to media articles and attributed quotes from industry figures would be that. Disgruntled fans bitching on SF forums, that doesn't pass muster. Ravenswing 08:06, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

caps[edit]

This is one of several articles "corrected" by a Dutch IP who uses capital letters only grudgingly. I rolled back all changes; some are arguably valid and can be done separately by someone who cares. —Tamfang (talk) 17:25, 7 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
