Jean renounced the titles of the House of Bourbon-Parma?
[edit]According to the text Jean renounced the titles of the House of Bourbon-Parma for himself and his family in 1981 when his eldest son Henri of Luxembourg married Maria-Theresa Mestre. Is there a official source or references that supports this claim? I couldn't find it... Demophon 03:14, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
- Grand Ducal Decree of 28 July 1986. The 1981 date is when the Duke of Parma refused to recognize the marriage of the current Grand Duke and his consort as dynastic. Charles 03:22, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
- I'm trying to find it on the Legal gazette, but didn't find this Grand Ducal Decree... Also I didn't find it on the internet at all. Can you give me the website where you found this? This is very strange..., because his descendents still bear the title, according to official webpages. Demophon 03:36, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
- I can't find it at the moment, but I did know the year and found the date online and it is mentioned on Guy Stair Sainty's website with regard to dropping the name. There is further information out there about a renunciation in 1995 on the part of Henri, but I cannot confirm it. Also, take a peek this this. I don't think it would have been posted in that fashion without being true, although I have heard of it before reading that one message. The text should be available somewhere. - The online Mémorial archives are a bit of a mess at the moment. Statutes appear in Mém A, which has a full archive of every Mém A ever published (but didn't not so long ago; see User_talk:Bastin8/Archive_3#Hollerich for an example of us waiting for a certain issue to be put online). Grand Ducal decrees appear in Mém B, which is somewhat behind. They started with 1996 onwards, and have been filling it up gradually from the beginning (i.e. 1854), so it will be a while until this particular decree is available online. This has frustrated me on a number of issues. Bastin 10:12, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
