Speech Disorder?

[edit]

I gather that Jesse May has a speech disorder or some sort of autism which prevents him from inflecting his voice properly or changing his tone appropriately. I don't know what this disorder is called, can anyone out there confirm this? I didn't get many google hits but I am not sure what to search for. - Abscissa 07:33, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

News to me. What do you gather that from? Essexmutant 08:56, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think I might have heard it on one of the WPT commentaries on DVD or something. Ever since then, whenever I hear Jesse May, I can't help thinking it's true. He has a two-beat pattern to his voice which he does not seem to be able to alter in any way to matter what he is saying (e.g. he-LO es-SEX-mutant I HEARD your FAM-ily just DIED... i'm SO sorry to HEAR that... the ACE comes on the FLOP for a FULL HOUSE...) - Abscissa 12:59, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I very much doubt he has a speech disorder. Essexmutant 16:54, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
My suspicions were correct, he confirmed this himself on a radio interview that was aired as a repeat from last September (2 years?), but it is more of a "severe affectation" than "disorder." - Abscissa 05:09, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
From Abscissa's example it sounds like he talks like Cary Grant.Le poulet noir (talk) 18:37, 26 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Exclusive contract with Matchroom?

[edit]

He's been commentating on at least 4 UK poker programmes this year (mostly Party Poker ones)... how exclusive can his contract be? Perhaps it's only exclusive in the U.S.? --bodnotbod 00:29, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
