Agreed. If you look at photos of the desks United States senate, or at the on-screen text showing a senator's name when one is speaking on TV, it says "Sen. John Doe" -- the same is done for members of the House of Representatives ("Rep. John Doe"). Or look at it conversely: have you ever seen "Dem. John Doe"? No. If/when their party and/or state affiliation is shown, it is in this format: "Rep. John Doe - (D) NC" (if John Doe were a Democratic-party representative from the state of North Carolina). It would be interesting to see whether Jessica's political party affiliation was ever mentioned in any episode. Would make a great addition to this article. Jessica's Typewriter[edit]

The statement that Jessica uses an old Underwood typewriter might be incorrect. Based only on my own observation, the typewriter shown in the introduction (if this is indeed the machine she uses throughout the series) is almost certainly a 1930's Royal KMM. Clues are the location of the tab-set/clear buttons, the shape of the cut-out in the cover and the chrome trim around the bottom of the cover and, most tellingly, the SQUARE shift and shift-lock keys, which can clearly, though only briefly, be seen on the keyboard. The Royal is probably the only machine that ever used these. Round keytops, as opposed to tomb-stone shaped keytops, for the remaining keys indicate a KMM, not the later KHM model. Finally, an Underwood used a pretty distinctive margin scale, and the margin scale seen on Jessica's more closely resembles other types of machines, thus tending to rule out an Underwood. Birth Date[edit]

As noted in the text, the episode which aired on Sunday 15 March 1992 included Jessica's birthday celebration in which a Tuesday Special was ordered, suggesting that the date was Tuesday 17 March 1992. However, as noted, no St Patrick's Day celebrations were included in the episode. I'd like to suggest that Jessica's birthday is in fact the previous Tuesday, 10 March. This explains the absence of such celebrations in an Irish pub and ties in with the air-date of the following Sunday.

I don't suppose the Irish pub was actually in Ireland/not in the US? Spoken languages[edit]

Jessica obviously speaks English, but in the first season she's briefly shown communicating to a couple of Asian (Chinese?) nuns, conversing in their own language. While I cannot judge on her pronunciation or on what she was saying even, it's interesting that she speaks Mandarin, or whatever language that was. In a later episode she's shown speaking a phrase in Russian, even though she herself admits that she doesn't speak it at all, and just learned the phrase to provoke the killer (as a native Russian-speaker, I have to say that neither A.Lansbury, nor the other actors spoke Russian very well in that episode, but then, it's not surprising).
