I'm Joanne's cousin. With deepest regret, on behalf of her family, I must report her passing. She went peacefully and in good care. Enclosed, for citation, is her obituary.
Hi @MucusArt -- welcome to Wikipedia, and my condolences on your cousin's death. May her memory be a blessing; she clearly left her mark on the world.
On sources: as it turns out, for Wikipedia, an obituary from a self-published site is not considered to be a very good source at all. If you think about it, this makes sense: when my mother died, I could have included in her obituary that she regularly bagged a new 14,000-foot peak before breakfast. (This is not true; she was not a big breakfast eater.)
I tagged the obituary you included in this article in the hope that at some point her story would be picked up by a news organization, which would constitute a more reliable source, since the news story would (presumably) have gone through editorial review.
...and it turns out that even then, it wouldn't be considered the most reliable source! Someone wrote a note on this: Wikipedia:Obituaries as sources.

Ah, it does help actually. I suppose any Tom, Dick, or Harry could claim to be somebody's relative and then proclaim someone dead with a self-typed obituary. It would be basic level social engineering if someone wanted to vandalize a page or spread some sort of disinformation. Thanks for the clarification. I'm sure some more credible news organization or page will pick it up at some point. I hope so, at least. She was quite noteworthy when her career was more active and she did a lot of acting and voice work in the Atlanta area, so I'm sure some local news page will report on it. I've moved away from the region, but I'll try and keep an eye out for such a thing to cite for this page later. MucusArt (talk) 18:39, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
