GA Nom comments[edit]

This article is a very good start. It is well referenced, and correctly, too! It is, however, missing very basic bio info. Where and when was he born? Where did he grow up and go to school? If he is a prof, where? When and where did he earn an advanced degree? It would help, but is not necessary, to have Sander's works under its own subhead. I've put the article on hold to give you time to add such detail. --CTSWyneken(talk) 13:29, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, I am unaware of any place in his published works (or in published works about him) where this kind of basic information is recited. Even his academic credentials (i.e. degrees earned and where) don't usually appear on the back of his books or articles; instead, he is listed simply as Doctor of Philosophy of Religion at Huntington University. I figured that if nobody has published it, then it must not be particularly important, and I'm not going to speculate. CaliforniaKid 17:05, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, for a bio it is important. Have you tried a google search for his university faculty home page? Often they contain such info. There's also Who's Who in Religion and a number of other places you could look. If you're at a distance from a library, I'll bet the Huntington librarians could do some digging for a citable source for such info. (As a librarian, and in their library consortium, I think that's a good wager. 8-) )
Seriously, he's a bit disembodied in the article at the moment. Where and when he grew up, which Christian church tradition or church body is important for understanding how he comes to the conclusions he does. --CTSWyneken(talk) 01:01, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, you're right, of course. I contacted the Huntington library and they located some of that info for me. It's now summarized in the first paragraph under the "biography" subheader. I have also added his oter works to the bibliography. Let me know if you think more changes are needed. CaliforniaKid 23:23, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This does the job nicely. Congratulations! I've promoted the article to GA status. --CTSWyneken(talk) 13:29, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Importance[edit]

I am not good informed on evangelical theology but I am interested about criteria on ranking this artickle at mid importance in Christianity (huge) wikiproject? Is this leading evangelical thelogian? If he is (I dont know, sorry) it is Ok to be Mid but if he is not I suggest to rank low importance.--Vojvodae please be free to write :) 19:25, 30 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
