Landlord of the Castle Inn pub in Castle Hill, Cambridge[edit]

I believe Halsey is landlord of the Castle Inn pub in Castle Hill, Cambridge (Adnams) (not to be confused with the Castle on Regent Street, which is Greene King). I will try to confirm this. SimonTrew (talk) 12:23, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A quick Google search confirms it. I will add it. I am not sure he still is as I have not been there for a couple of years, but will assume he is in the absense of information to the contrary. SimonTrew (talk) 12:25, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In 2013 Halsey was playing drums for Bonnie Raitt on her tour of the UK. He can be seen in the BBC4 In Concert recording made at Stoke Newington Town Hall and is introduced by Raitt as being famous for being Barry Wom in the Rutles. This concert is due to be broadcast in the autumn of 2013. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.90.161.78 (talk) 13:37, 1 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Fatso PreDates The Rutles[edit]

The opening paragraph is a bit wonky. John was / is a member of Fatso , which was the "house band" for "Rutland Weekend Television". Within that series ( 1975-1976 ) was the original Rutles parody - one song / sketch - for "I Must Be In Love" , this later led to "All You Need Is Cash" (1978) … ergo … He was in "Fatso" first. Having said that , as a member of "Grimms" , he worked with Neil Innes , before "Fatso". Or to put it another way , he worked with Innes , quite a bit before The Rutles happened. 75.104.174.122 (talk) 15:23, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I was just about to add the very same bit of information - it was Halsey's work with Fatso, not to mention his long-standing relationship with Rutles guitarist Ollie Halsall in Timebox and Patto, that led to his later becoming a fully-fledged Rutle. Neil Innes had worked with Halsall as far back as 1973, so it may have even been the case that Halsall introduced Halsey to Innes in the first place. End Bit ... Slightly Off .[edit]

Considering that Eric Idle mimed his parts in The Rutles ... his PLAYING with the other three in 2008, was the FIRST time all four had ever played together. ( It had been 30 years since the four ACTING Rutles had appeared together.). Too nitpicky? 75.104.182.200 (talk) 17:08, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
