US Film poster[edit]

The second image on the page—the US poster for the film—fails WP:NFCCP#8, so I removed it. As this is a UK film, the UK film poster is preferred, as are UK details in the infobox, rather than bloating out with foreign dates and companies. - SchroCat (talk) 08:26, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Rather than simply deleting the information, perhaps an "alternate versions" section is warranted. The US release is a significant re-edit, not just a new title. - Dravecky (talk) 16:38, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I think it would be useful to have coverage about the re-edit, but that does not necessarily mean displaying the related poster image. A non-free image in the infobox tends to be the identifying image for the topic, and any secondary non-free image needs a more specific rationale. That's why we do not include soundtrack cover images or images of home media (DVD/Blu-ray cover) unless there's contextual significance. Showing the U.S. poster does not increase readers' understanding of how the film was re-edited, though. Erik (talk | contribs) 17:18, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I can certainly live without the poster and, barring extensive discussion of the US re-edit and marketing decisions in the article (backed, of course, by reliable sources), I have no plans to re-add it. - Dravecky (talk) 06:46, 27 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
