The result of the debate was Moved per request. I guess we won't have many experts on Mayan orthography involved, so there's no point in relisting. Duja► 16:34, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Kaibil B'alam → Kayb'il B'alam — If this person's name is to reflect the standardised orthography for Mayan languages (per ALMG), then Kayb'il B'alam would be the more accurate rendition. In this orthography <b> should always be <b'>, and Mayan languages in general do not have CV₁V₂ syllables. * '''Oppose'''&nbsp Although the correct orthogaraphy may be "Kayb'il B'alam" more people are familar with its original spelling "Kaibil Balam". Specifically those from Guatemala. The spelling of "Kaibil Balam" is much more common than the other- I have yet to find any books or websources with the "Kayb'il B'alam" spelling.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.18.114.99 (talk • contribs) 6 March 2007.
