I have no intention of editing anything, because the Wikipedia system is baffling to me - but the coordinate shown is to a different area than the one described in the article, to the north. In Google Maps they are both called Kumtag Desert. They are, however, 280 km apart and clearly not the same sand desert or erg. The entire Kumtag is a desert I suppose, but the image on the page shows just the erg, while the map coordinates is in the other erg. Which one is the ACTUAL Kumtag desert? 109.57.168.109 (talk) 17:46, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The confusion arises from the word itself, because it is the local equivalent name of an erg. The dunes at the coordinates are therefore the Turpan Kumtag, while the dunes of the article are just the "Kumtag desert".
