Day Out with Thomas[edit]

Can Lion disguise as Drake for Day Out with Thomas if I ask permission to someone in charge of the railway? Felix 13:29, 25 July 2006

Identity section[edit]

I noticed that there is not a source for the partial rebuttal of Anthony Dawson's concerns about whether the current Lion is certainly the 1838 locomotive. It says "However, it is very likely that the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board were simply never aware that the engine was called Lion, as it would have already lost its name by the time the London and North Western Railway made the negotiations to sell the engine to them, and the name would only have been deduced when interest in its preservation was raised." I am not saying that this is wrong, but without a source it comes across as either original research or speculation. Thus I think if this cannot be sourced then it should be taken out. I have not seen much on this since news of Dawson's findings in 2019, but I would imagine that there has been further discussion, so an editor with access to relevant sources might be able to add something in.
