Alright, now this page really needs more of the baddies added. Anyone ready and willing to help out that in particular? Eric42 02:55, 23 Jun 2004 (UTC)

I've added a list of monsters. Hope it helps. --Feitclub 16:44, Sep 5, 2004 (UTC)

Menace from Dawn of Sorrow has gotten its own entry from none other than I. --Delf 01:51, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

Preorder timeline

Just to say, the timeline given with a preorder of Portrait of Ruin lists Circle of the Moon and Castlevania 64 - whether this indicates them being returned to canon or not, I'm not sure, but thought i'd mention this.

Legends isn't mentioned, though, so I think canon may have been edited again HikariOblivion 00:37, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

From what I've heard, the only game that's not canon is Legends, the new timeline that came with the preorder states this as fact now.

List of characters in Castlevania: Sorrow series

Just to let you know that the only reason I created the page is that there were separate articles on each of those characters that were in just awful state, so making the page was meant to be an improvment to the situation and not necessarily an outright fix. It doesn't matter to me personally what happens with it in relation to the main Castlevania characters list, so do whatever seems best. Erik Jensen (Appreciate|Donate) 17:49, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

However, I should describe what I would do if I "owned" these articles: I would have all the various subseries in Castlevania have their own pages and put the characters of the rest of the individual games into the main Castlevania list. Playing Portrait of Ruin even as I type this, it seems to be really related to Bloodlines, so I would have a List of characters in Castlevania: Bloodlines and Portrait of Ruin (Awful title, though). Likewise, Dracula X is storywise followed by the infinitely notable Symphony of the Night, so a list of characters from those two games I would have supported as well. I won't mind any decision to do anything else, be assured of that. :) Erik Jensen (Appreciate|Donate) 19:58, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

Seperate Pages

Does anyone else think that the Belmonts should have pages of their own? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.222.251.34 (talk) 02:47, 30 December 2006 (UTC).

Well We could merge the characters from DOS into this page and seperate the belmonts into their own article.

The Belmonts already make up a bulk of "List of Castlevania Characters," so how about we change the title of that article to "List of Belmonts (Castlevania)" or something, take out everyone who doesn't belong, and put them into another article? We should have another article concerning only the enemies, divided into recurring and non-recurring and bosses et cetera, which would be more organized than just having a list of Castlevania characters that lacks enemies and/or has too many people.

Retaliate 16:48, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

well that sounds pretty good maybe we can take the non belmont characters put them in the DOS characters and rename that article "list of Castlevania characters" and that monster idea sounds interesting as well

Richter and Richiter

During the mention of Richter, should the common misspelling of Richter as Richiter be mentioned? I only say because even the game manual refers to him as Richiter. AnujSuper9 05:02, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

I believe that the common misspelling of Richter as Richiter should be mentioned. There is also the Alucard/Alucart issue, though.... Retaliate 16:50, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

Old Axe Armor

Should Old Axe Armor (known as Axe Lord Armor in Symphony of the Night) be included in the list of characters. This is the second time the character has been playable (first in SotN, second in PoR), and Konami even acknowledges the character on its own by providing artwork of the character. Also, then it should also be made notable that Old Axe Armor is female. AnujSuper9 05:06, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

It should definitely be mentioned that Old Axe Armor is not male, which has always been a misinterpretation of the artwork. I do not believe that she should be included in the list of characters just yet, though, because it has been suggested that another article on enemies from Castlevania should be created, and that the List of Characters already existing be renamed "List of Belmonts (Castlevania)," with other characters removed and placed elsewhere. Retaliate 16:54, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

Graham Jones

I've noticed that all links to Graham Jones in the Castlevania articles are directing to an article for a living person. I thought this might be of some point to bring to the attention of individuals who worked heavily on the character articles and so forth concerning the game series. 75.2.55.74 16:50, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

Perhaps the links to Graham Jones in the Castlevania articles should be redirected to "List of Castlevania Characters," and an article should be created called "Graham Jones (Disambiguation)," though there are but a few people/characters named Graham Jones in Wikipedia.... Temporary measures

I've added Jonathan and Charlotte from Portrait of Ruin to these lists, but Konami hasn't specified when exactly the game takes place. When they do, feel free to alter their entries to be more specific. (Master Deusoma 22:31, 26 April 2006 (UTC))

  • Portrait of Ruins takes place somewhere around World War II. I'd also like to add how Richter passed Vampire Killer to Jonathan, but for some reason... why did he skip John? N J B
    • Actually, in PoR, it's mentioned by Wind that he and John found out after defeating Dracula in Bloodlines that using the Vampire Killer would drain a part of his life. Thus, clearly, he must have already unlocked the True Vampire Killer. Because Jonathan was the next wielder, he had to prove himself to the Whip in order to wield it's full power.(Onimura Ixmythot 15:50, 1 May 2007 (UTC))

Reoccuring characters

Should the reoccuring character section list all reoccuring characters including minor ones?66.8.254.133 (talk) 18:48, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

That's nice and all but you removed all the additions I added from Castlevania Judgement storyline to the various characters. Most noteably I had completed a synopses of Cornell and Galamoth's histories, and extended history for various other characters, such as Grant Danasty, Sypha, etc from Judgement.
Also hypocritically you have simon under reoccuring character, despite the fact he he "came from" only Castlevania and Castlevania II.66.8.254.133 (talk) 08:26, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

Order of Ecclesia Villagers

These characters aren't important to the story. I don't understand why they have to be mentioned.Satoryu (talk) 02:31, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

It is rather fancrufty ya.66.8.254.133 (talk) 09:43, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Serena

As far as I know Serena is just a fan name, not listed any official material Japanese or english translations. Simon's "wife" isn't given any name.66.8.254.133 (talk) 10:52, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

See also sectins

This page is somewhat difficult to follow. I think it would be helpful if there were see also sections in related sections that show complete lists of characters that appear in a particular game, but leads to the main section where details of that character can be found. This would be particularly useful for sections like Judgement or some of the reoccuring charactersDraculvania (talk) 20:43, 14 June 2009 (UTC)18:54, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

Contents list

I see that this article is supposed to be in order of release and order of appearance. I've tried to fix that. For people looking up material having "Legends" under the heading "Legends" makes far more sense than "non-canon character" by itself which people won't necessarily be trying to look up. I've moved the appropriate "non-canon" warning to the front of the "Legends" section, for anyone who might be interested in that trivia. Its pretty straight forward and easy to spot for anyone trying to read it. But from a NPOV stance the whole page needs to follow a single system. I will consider further edits as a conflict of interest, fancruft, and edit-war vandalism.Draculvania (talk) 20:43, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
I see that a person or persons with an IP starting with 92 wants to keep on changing the legends section to "non-canon characters". They don't seem to see the difficulty it causes in searching up a specific topic if it isn't categorized by its actual title. Legends should properly be used as the category title because that is what people are going to be looking up when they go through the contents section.
I agree a note on Legends status in canon should be noted, but like other games for example, Order of Shadows, that information can be listed as a note at the beginning of its section.Draculvania (talk) 23:49, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

Lords of Shadow not "canon"

http://www.videogamer.com/ps3/lords_of_shadow/preview-1975.html According to Dave Cox:

"It's not part of the so-called timeline. This is an original, standalone product...We didn't want to follow the timeline because we felt it would put us in a bit of a box in terms of what we could do creatively...A lot of people don't understand the timeline...Even the fans - a lot of them don't really understand it...So this is a rebirth, definitely. It doesn't follow a timeline. It's not, people use the word canon, it's not canon. It's an original game."

Looks like Dave Cox meant it when he said this game would reboot the series and create a new timeline.137.222.114.243 (talk) 01:27, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

Canon thread divergences

Edited Sypha and Grant's profiles slightly to reflect the changes/plot threads unique to Judgment; since Judgment contradicts its own interior canon (Eric Lecarde's Judgment story is infamous for this; it shows, unfortunately, that the game was less than a year from conception to release) several times, it's hard to tell exactly what is mean to be 'core canon' and what is not. Since Judgment-Trevor is missing an eye and Curse-of-Darkness Trevor is not, and since Cornell appears, I am deducing that Judgment is a 'gaiden game' and that its canon applies to the alternate timeline it takes place in. The CVIII quartet do have pasts! (Mr P's fanpage has a translation of the manual that came with this game.) The PAL and NA regional translations simply didn't list them. With IGA, it's hard to assume much of anything, but given Cornell's appearance and Trevor's missing eye, as well as various characters' non-canon weaponry and the hybridization of Carmilla and Erzsebet, it may be safer to guess that judgment is a gaiden/AU, and not a part of canon proper as such. -castlevaniaburd —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.31.38.93 (talk) 19:52, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

original research —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.15.42.40 (talk) 19:42, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
The above poster is right, we can only support facts with citations. We cannot resort to original research and theories. IGA really didn't say much on Judgement other than refer to the "timeline", and states that the story is about Galamoth's attempts to destroy the timeline, and that the characters originate from various points of the timeline. Noting IGA's love of his "timeline", he is apparently referring to his timeline, and not some alternate timeline. The characters may be traveling to some kind of pocket dimension, however it is clearly part of his timeline proper going only by his own quotes. Unless someone finds any quotes where he retracts his statement, its all we really know about its relationship to the "timeline". He never called it a gaiden even (which neither means canon or non-canon in its definition).137.222.231.108 (talk) 12:46, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

Orphaned references in List of Castlevania characters

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of List of Castlevania characters's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "OfficialCastlevaniaWebsite":

  • From List of Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow characters: "Official Castlevania website". Konami. Retrieved 2007-05-15.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 02:49, 1 March 2013 (UTC)

Death

I'm here to describe and name the creature Death that no one has ever used before. Many stories include Death with no real description. Death is a skeleton god that has powers especially by his will. For example, he can look at a tree and it dies and control objects to kill a living being. Like all stories they don't like being cheated death, but likes to cheat others. It floats through the air. Unlike skeleton gods, ordinary skeletons that move with weapons don't have powers, all regular skeletons do is kill with their weapons and their physically bodies. But not all skeleton gods are indestructible. For example, in the video game "Castlevania Lamont of Innocence: Leon, the vampire hunter, defeated Death with a holy whip. And in the movie "Final Destination" all you can do is defeat Death to cheat him to live. I also want you to know that for all the stories that have to do with Death, all I wanted is to add something new that no one thought of or shared before. It's always evil and never does good things for anyone or anything else. All I want to do is name the being and not to replace the name Death. I want you to know that I did this for a creative and noble cause. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.184.153.202 (talk) 22:49, 24 August 2013 (UTC)
