Kitagawa of Student Council[edit]

I think that Kitagawa, the uptight vice-president of Student Council is worth a place here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.186.197.60 (talk) 08:05, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Keeping Profiles from Being Too Unwieldy[edit]

I think it's important that the character profiles not become too bloated with little details. They should provide a complete understanding of the character, but it's not absolutely necessary to explain every single important event or to add new information just because it was revealed in a recent volume or episode. Character profiles should not be plot synopses. SDShamshel (talk) 16:53, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ohno Cosplaying Sex[edit]

In the article it says when saki asks ohno if it is okay to have sex while cosplaying as a porn charcter ohno dosen't respond because she can't reconcile that question with her philosphy, But, it seemed more like she was massivly embarrased, and the title of the strip was "Actually, They've already..." which leads me to think that she has already done sex while cosplaying as a porn charcter. Imna go ahead and change it but if anyone disagrees point it out. I can't verify the quality of the scanlation im using so... Cerevox 03:45, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ogiue: added info[edit]

I added some info to her bio after re-reading vol 8. In the pages you can see her "friend" smirking at her, as well as glowering at her whenever Ogiue is around her secret boyfriend. Tokyogirl79Tokyogirl79

  • I added even more to it after I read more of the manga, paying extra close attention to details. It's not out & out discussed, but the manga heavily implies the following:

Ogiue was asked to make yaoi drawings for a hard core story her friends were making about two of her classmates. Meanwhile Ogiue started dating one of the two guys, the one who would be the bottom in the story. One of her friends, the one who asked her to do the drawings, noticed the relationship (quite possibly from the beginning, judging from some of the looks). It isn't clear why she was jealous, whether it would be in potentially losing a friend, because she herself was interested in the boy, or just jealous of Ogiue having a relationship. After the relationship takes hold, the friend can be seen glaring at her from the background. When Ogiue finished the pictures her friend printed them in book format, without the story. It can be construed that the friend was the one who leaked the book to Ogiue's boyfriend. Afterwards of course, the boy left school & Ogiue was ostracized from her classmates.

In any case, afterwards it appears that Ogiue stayed friends with her. The friend defends her, which suggests that it may have been a case of the betraying friend being scared of losing Ogiue. The next part was first shown in a dream sequence. Ogiue is taunted by someone in class calling her Homoiue, & she then runs to the roof, where she jumps off. The friend's expression suggests that she never expected it to come to this degree, but is replaced by her smirk. In the next chapter it is briefly touched upon that Ogiue actually tried to jump when she remarks that she "failed at dying". The dream itself suggests that Ogiue was aware (maybe only subconciously) that her friend betrayed her (the smirk). It could be that Ogiue jumps repeatedly from windows as a form of self-protection.

I believe that since it was a) going towards the end of the manga & b) such a serious plotline would be considered too serious for the predominantly lighthearted manga, it wasn't further developed. Still, it would have made a really interesting furthered plotline.

I wanted to write this here in the discussion page, so that if anyone was curious as to my reasoning they could read my argument for this. It's such a subtle plotline that it is easily missed. It makes me wonder what else was missed. Tokyogirl79 17:22, 30 March 2007 (UTC)Tokyogirl79[reply]

Favorites not so much[edit]

Actually I believe the 'favorites' of the characters aren't really their favorites as they are the creator's favorites (he might be saying it sarcastically when he writes 'these choices have nothing to do with the interests of the author). Since the story wasn't very well defined then, the author just dumped those profile pages in there, however as the manga progresses it becomes obvious that the favorite manga of all the members is Kujibiki Unbalance, Sasahara even says so in a job interview, and it's the only one he mentions, yet it isn't in his 'favorites' list. Character Images[edit]

What the smeg happened with all the images of the characters? Sheeze, Wikipedia is becoming more and more annoying by the day. AstroNerdBoy (talk) 06:59, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think old character image are captured directly from anime, that can't declared fair use. So it's removed. I still think character image from character page of official Genshiken website can be used as it is public domain. Mikamura (talk) 16:23, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, it really seems that you don't understand what public domain is. Can't you tell that there's a copyright notification at the bottom of the very page you linked to?--SeizureDog (talk) 03:20, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
