flickr photos[edit]

Here are a random selection of totally awesome Konglish examples from flickr:

I think we can upload flickr images to Commons because they are Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.0 Generic. The other Talk Page contains the suggestion that the main article for Konglish already has too many examples and thus the main article should not contain an image gallery, so it makes sense to include an image gallery of Konglish examples here since a list article should be as complete as available reliable sources allow. A helpful editor has pointed out that at least two of those images are not NC-SA 2.0 and that two of them are copyright reserved; I am not an expert in this area. Of those that are legal to upload to Commons (including other images that anyone else finds), perhaps we can reach a consensus here on which to include. Besides legal implications. While these pictures may show "Konglish", it does not really give an example of "Konglish terms", the page of this discussion. These were not from commonly used mis-manufactured words but simply bad translating. -Grumps (talk) 08:07, 21 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable sources[edit]

I suggest that we discount as a source anything written by a non-native speaker of Korean, especially foreigners in Korea with little knowledge of Korean, and instead only cite sources that are written by native speakers of Korean. Exceptions would include actual books or clearly reliable sources like the New York Times, but it seems unlikely that such sources will publish a list of Konglish any time soon.
