Shorten sections on Ahab and Ishmael[edit]

The sections on Ahab and Ishmael should be shortened. They have their own articles, and the information should not be duplicated or split across different articles. These sections should be shortened by merging the text into the main articles or removing the text if it already exists in the main articles. 99.239.152.123 (talk) 05:13, 31 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

My name only appears as the creator of this subpgae because I moved this list from the Moby-Dick page to this page. The character list was made up many years ago, not by the editors currently working on the article, except that I had to supply a lead when the list was made into an article of its own. The list of characters should not contain lengthy quotations from the book, but short descriptions, as in Crime and Punishment for instance. When such a tight list has been made, it may be worth adding to the Moby-Dick page again, but that discussion belongs on the MD Talk Page, where editors are debating what to do with the character list: Character List. The Lee Shore[edit]

I'm not the best writer/editor so I'm not sure how appropriate it would be to make an edit to the actual page, but I was surprised that there was no mention of Bulkington on this page. He's only discussed briefly in Chapter 23 (The Lee Shore) but Ishmael's observations about him are powerful, striking and an important part of the book.

Could he maybe be added to the Characters Met Ashore section?

Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2620:160:E728:2:0:0:0:6 (talk) 17:37, 2 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
