Talk:List of Swedish artists

Highly Biased page where famous artists are mixed with totally unknown artists. Editors have removed wellknown artists such as Lennart Jirlow and Philip von Schantz which can be found in every book about Swedish artists. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Detp (talkcontribs) 08:47, 9 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Funny, how people claim bias when they're stopped from adding their own names to Wikipedia-- your very first edits were to add Paul Dettwiler to lists-- as I suspect was the case here. As for Jirlow and von Schantz, the guidelines were explained at your talk page soon after you began editing: generally there need to be properly sourced articles about people before their names can be added to lists. You're welcome to write such articles about these artists. As it stands, there are many redlinked names on this list which may be removed--it's the reason I put the template up top. 76.248.149.98 (talk) 13:13, 9 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
In theory, Wikipedia would only have articles on notable Swedish artists, so any name listed with an article is notable. In practice, there are many missing names and many non-notable names included. The solution to this is for you to create the missing articles and PROD or AFD the non-notable ones. Argento Surfer (talk) 16:25, 9 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
