Like the 1970s article - this is unreferenced. It is also wrong as I have a copy of the official top 100 of the 1980s (released at the end of 1989) and several positions are incorrect (ABBA's "Super Trouper" was No.48 for example). Tagged (again).--Tuzapicabit (talk) 12:00, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OK, finally dug out my copy of the Guinness Book of Hit Singles:1980s (pub. June 1990), which has the list of top 100 singles of the decade in sales. I'll add this with the ref, but I'll decline to put it in a table just now. But certainly correct and referenced material is better than something that just looks pretty.--Tuzapicabit (talk) 00:53, 21 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

January 2022[edit]

Janet jackson has the biggest selling album and tour of the 80s. #1 singles and your website didn't even mention her🤔 why is that? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 45.24.8.31 (talk) 17:10, 29 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This article is about the best-selling singles of the 1980s in the United Kingdom only – Ms Jackson never had any no. 1 singles there during that decade. Richard3120 (talk) 21:09, 24 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
