2nd String Quartet?[edit]

Grove's Dictionary, 5th ed, 1954, says he wrote a 2nd String Quartet, Op, 27, in 1948. But we're saying he only wrote one, and that Op. 27 is a vocal piece written in 1950-51. What gives? -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 13:03, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Skorvatch Est Mort???[edit]

In spite of much exploring and searching, I am unable to find ANY reference to this alleged piece anywhere other than this list. As Jack says above, "What gives?" Is the listing of this piece a result of vandalism? or astute scholarship?? -- FrankMJohnson, 31 Aug 2013

I have communicated with several folks who knew Sam Barber near the end of his life, including Ransom Wilson, renowned flautist. All have stated that the 'Skorvatch est mort' listing must be a fraud. No one has heard of it, and each would be in a position to know. On the basis of this, I'm removing it from the list. 04 Jan 2014

Keyboard works[edit]

here is a little more info on the complete list of piano works. I'm not sure of the standards you guys work with (eg how to handle childhood/student works?), so I'll let someone else update the page properly with the information, but note that there's definitely some opportunity to fill in more context (what's published posth.? what's a student work? also 3 essays seems mis-listed (as Essay III) and Aunt Mamie isn't listed at all) given what's here: https://searchworks.stanford.edu/view/8926414 171.66.208.139 (talk) 07:17, 13 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
