Diplomats not to the Hanseatic League but the Hanseatic Cities[edit]

The Hanseatic League had no diplomatic relations with anybody, in fact, it wasn't a sovereign entity.

Diplomatic relations to the Hanseatic cities were established when the Hanseatic League asked the three sovereign city states of Bremen, Hamburg and Lübeck to accept diplomatic envoys of foreign monarchs to deal with matters related those three cities and the League as a whole; latest after 1815 these matters were reduced to those three cities. --109.43.3.198 (talk) 19:33, 17 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
