As content shouldn't reside mainly in templates, can we place the current list of members on this page and move Template:Swiss Council of States members, 2003-2007 back to List of members of the Swiss Council of States (2003-2007)? For this page, I'd adopt the same structure as for List of members of the Swiss National Council (2007-2011). -- User:Docu

I am sorry, but I see simply no point in having this list article separate from Swiss Council of States, unless it aims at (ultimately) listing all historical members. A list of just the current members obviously belongs in the Swiss Council of States article, which has hardly any content beyond that. Since this means that the same list will appear both there and here, it makes perfect sense to transclude it. dab (𒁳) 13:15, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Personally, I'd split the ultimate list of all 822 members of the Swiss Council of States by legislature, even if this means having 48 lists. This page would be the one of the current legislature (we could rename it to List of members of the Swiss Council of States (2007-2011)). Once Fritz Schiesser is replaced, this list would already be different from one listing just the current members or the list on Swiss federal election, 2007#Council_of_States. -- User:Docu
